Turn 1

Le Murtiple run forward cackling while Seabolt grabs the razing laser and heads towards the theatre. Nuclear Jones jury rigs the theatre and Androida does the same to one of the cop cars. Realising what the Heavy Metal team are up to, Seabolt unleashes the Razing Laser on the red car, turning it into molten slag. C.O.R.E. orders Gizmobot to go and take care of his access point and bash Le Murtiple while he's there. He runs forward and starts hitting the little lemur unaware the Stalker is doing some stalking...

Image

Virgo also sees Androida jury rig a car and tells the Crazy Apes to smash the other cop car before she can get there!

Image

Hadron and Mercury both move in and start reconstructing the old Post Office, nothing helps out the citizens like being able to get their ebay packages!

Image

Stalker then charges and Rips Gizmobot right in the gizmo, causing the mechanical creation to auto destruct. But Le Murtiple and Stalker are both intuitive enough to avoid serious injury. C.O.R.E. sees the time is right and takes the form of Ghengis Khan, downloading and using Byte Bite on both Le Murtiple and Stalker, felling both of nature's creatures with one giant electronic pulse wave of death. Having had his revenge on Stalker C.O.R.E. made sure all of the Nature team knows it by projecting "I HAD MY REVENGE ON STALKER" on the wall of the palace theatre...

Image

Image

Guerilla, realising that the Crazy Apes are just not as advanced as him moves in and clobbers the cop car, leaving only Marty's Auto Parts for the HM team to Jury Rig.

Image

Dark Solar finally comes out from behind the bank and heads towards C.O.R.E. Calculating that a large Razing Laser and an grumpy Dark Solar would be too much for his circuits to take, C.O.R.E. downloads back to his "anchor" download point.

Turn 2

Dark Solar, furious that two of nature's magical creations were fried flies forward and tears the access point to pieces.

Image

Androida then moves, lightning quickly, into what is soon to be known as massacre alley, jury rigging Marty's and completing a second agenda for HM. Tritonius hears the robot girl and runs around the corner, smacking her a good one!

Image

Le Murtiple decide that, if nothing else, their mission is to take revenge upon C.O.R.E.S. revenge upon Stalker (or could it be that it's actually part of the secret double agent C.O.R.E.s plan to make it look like Stalkers dead?!?! Stay tuned kids and find out!). They create a replacement mirror image and send him scurrying back towards Stalker with the First Aid Kit.

Image

Captain Hadron fixes the Post Office some more and then heads around the back to confront Tritonius and Hydroman, while a sneaky, wall crawling Le Murtiple heads to the roof, ready for Sabotaging.

Image

Doc Mercury, seeing Androida in trouble, morphs an anvil shaped hand, grabs a skip bin and tosses it on Tritonius' head, punishing the big Neptunian. Guerrilla gets involved and swings round with his boom stick and dakka dakkas Androida, but she's fast enough to dodge. Mercury then rushes in and drives Tritonius to the ground, battered and broken.

Image

Guerrilla, still focussed on the red shiny lady, charges in and belts her good, knocking her head clean off! Virgo then moves in and laser crossbow shoots Mercury, putting the hurt on. The Crazy Apes move forward with excitement but Cronin sends the Zzapbots forward to Zzap them, taking one of them down. C.O.R.E., recognising the Mercury is in trouble, downloads into the access point near massacre alley and Byte Bite's Guerrilla.

Image

Image

Seeing that the Nature team is controlling the area between the bank and the theatre, Nuclear Jones heads over to delay their plans by flooding the area with a nuclear leak, right on top of the fallen body of Stalker, irradiating Seabolt and Dark Stalker.

Image

Meanwhile, behind Marty's Auto Parts, Hydroman, who Tritonius had told to wait here cause he'd be back in a minute, wonders what's taking the Neptunian so long...

Turn 3

Doc Mercury starts by bashing Guerrilla one, who retaliates by Razing Doc, C.O.R.E. and the Post Office, knocking Heavy Metal's Leader down! But his victory is short lived, when C.O.R.E. gets up and electrifies the big monkey into submission. C.O.R.E. then forms himself into Charlemagne ready for further combat.

Image

Image

Image

Solar then blasts Jones with a Ray of Golden Sunlight, leaving the atomic man clinging to precious little life. Realising his time may soon be up, Jones runs as far as he can, hoping to draw the villains away from the theatre, and makes one last heroic call, healing a point of damage on each HM Supreme.

Image

Seabolt has none of it and drags the Razing Laser over and vaporises Nuclear Jones, leaving no trace of where he'd once been.

Image

Hadron morphs into Mini Hadron and runs into massacre alley, putting parts of Doc Mercury back together. Mercury then decides that rather than facing Virgo's crossbow again he'd Meld into the walls of the Post Office, ready to pounce later.

Image

Virgo, losing sight of her target, pushes forward. Lady Cyburn sees a chance to show off to the rest of the team and runs into combat with Virgo. Le Murtiple, hiding behind the phone box, sees an opportunity for mayhem and backstabs Cyburn. Cronin, shaking her head at Cyburn always getting herself into trouble, runs into the melee and slashes at Virgo, producing a minor flesh wound. Virgo swings her bladed crossbow at Cyburn but she defends herself well. C.O.R.E. seeing that the fight has moved out of the alley, moves towards the fracas.

Turn 4

Doc Mercury appears on the roof of the post office and grabs the Le Murtiple image, who wriggles to get loose.

Image

With the lemur in one hand, he pulls out the Mercurial Matrix and sets its dial to Cronin, powering up the Time Samurai. Cronin then uses her control of time to manipulate multiple strikes with rewinds to find the gaps in Virgo's defence, cutting the Ulthar woman badly.

Image

Le Murtiple sees his opening now that the radiation leak has dissipated and moves in to administer the first aid kit to Stalker, who gingerly gets up.

Image

C.O.R.E., always knowing when his time is, charges at Virgo in his Charlemagne form, finishing off the alien female. He then continues on taking out the Le Murtiple image that was climbing on Cyburn's head. While this is happening Dark Solar and Seabolt both start taking bricks out of the Palace Theatre and Stalker and Le Murtiple start cleansing Central Park.

Image

Dark Solar realises that if there was ever a time to shine it was now (see what I did there, Solar/Shine, get it... ), and he heads through Central Park to find a fight.

Image

Doc Merc finally manages to hold onto Le Murtiple and pops him. He then fixes the roof of the Post Office, bringing it back to fully functional. Knowing he'll be needed at ground level he Melds back into the walls...

Image

Coming out the other side of the park Solar spots the Toolbots. Such an affront to the purity of nature offends him and he unleashes the power of the night sun on the little robots...

Image

...vaporising them.

Image

Mini Hadron finally finds Androida's head in the dumpster and reattaches it, reactivating the mechanical lady who then immediately starts running (it's what she does!)

Turn 5

Dark Solar takes aim at the access point of C.O.R.E.s and damages it.

Image

C.O.R.E. takes the lead and charges the last remaining Le Murtiple image, smashing the little fella.

Image

Stalker remembers the smell of that electricity and runs away through the park, stopping only to pick up some litter and put it in the trash, cleansing the area. Seabolt ignores everything going on and turns on his new toy again, the Razing Laser, and brings down the Palace Theatre.

Image

Hadron morphs from Mini form to Captain form and moves to join the fight. Dark Solar, seeing a target, hits him with a Sun Ray.

Image

Dark Solar, not one to leave a job half done, then flies into the damaged access point and smashes it completely

Image

C.O.R.E. and Cronin move into position to threaten Solar's kittykat and hold ground if necessary, while Lady Cyburn takes a fiery shot at Seabolt, who is much too quick to be hit.

Image

Cronin then orders the Zzapbots to fire on Dark Solar, but their shots fly wide

Image

Meanwhile, behind Marty's Auto Parts...

Turn 6

Hadron gets GIANT!!!

Image

While Solar looks over his shoulder to make sure Stalker runs behind the protection of the police car, Giant Hadron lumbers over, grabs Dark Solar and tosses him at Stalker, falling short with the toss but knocking the boss nature lover down!

Image

Image

Solar, outraged, jumps to his feet and blasts Cronin with the sun's power, hurting her bad. Cyburn tries another shot at Seabolt but again he's too quick. DS, still upset at getting tossed, decides to do some tossing of his own, hurling the cop car at Cronin, flattening her.

Image

Image

Seabolt, reluctant to give up his toy laser, finally drops it and goes with the flow, flooding Cyburn and moving her and a couple of barrels out of his area. C.O.R.E. forms his Patton exoskin and blasts Seabolt but with minimal effect.

Image

Some final moves and the clash is over...

Conclusion

So this was our first lvl12 game using the big boys, and it was a close one in the end. It looked like the Heavy Metal team had the upper hand the whole way but in the end, when we added up the points, the Nature boys came out on top! Baskinders had completed Reconstruction and Jury Rig for 4 AGP but had failed to kill Stalker so copped -1 AGP for that. Felstorm had successfully cleansed Central Park, razed the Theatre and C.O.R.E. was unhurt (he'd suffered one damage from Guerilla's raze which was healed by Nuclear Jones' Heroic Call), earning him a massive 7 AGP. Looking at the control of the city, Solar and Stalker contested with Mercury and Cyburn for the South West, C.O.R.E. and Seabolt contested the South East, Androida was unchallenged in the North East, earning 3 AGP for Heavy Metal, and Giant Hadron controlled the North West. However, I'd forgotten (or not actually read :)) that Giant Hadron can't take objectives and hence no-one took the North West!!! So a 7 to 6 victory for the Nature boys :D

Thanks Bubba. Those bases are actually just bits from the GW Cities of Death ruined buildings kits that I stuck on. I put some still water effects on them to give it a radioactive glow but otherwise just junk I had lying around :)

Very nice report! I love the way you showed both the overhead views as well as the more conventional shots.

This really makes me want to finally get in a level 12 game so I can try Dark Solar myself!
