We’d been trying to organize a day for Felstorm, myself and 3 of our mates who we gamed with in the old days with GW stuff to get together and play some Pulp. Children, Wives, work and general life stuff intervened like a supervillain at each turn, but finally we overcame and the stars aligned to make it happen!

Given that there would be 2 tables, many 20 Supremes, 2 Plots and 12 Agendas, we decided that I would be the non-playing photo-taking rule-helping beer-drinking guy while the other four fought it out.

The story is that the two tables would represent the sewers on one table which were directly underneath the city on the other table. The villains were attempting to damage 2 vital structure points in the sewers which, if successful would collapse the streets above. To represent that the Plot on the Sewer Table was Take and Hold: King of the Hill. The Plot on the City Table was Take and Hold: King of the Block, to represent the Heroes attempting to clear the streets of civilians and property in case their comrades below are unsuccessful in stopping the collapse. To determine the victor the AGP would be combined from both tables.

The Heroes were represented by Roboxt (Left) in the City and K-nucks (Right) in the Sewers.

Image

And the Villains would be deviously handled by Felstorm (Left) in the Sewers and Flo (Right) in the City.

Image

The scene is set:

Image

The Sewers would be fought over by:

Image

Image

K-nucks’ Heroes – Stoner Hawk (Lvl2), Trail (Lvl2), Riposte (Lvl2), Aquerro (Lvl1) & Vector (Lvl1) with BOOMinion Gizmobot, Blasterbots and Zzapbots.
Agendas: Double Agent (Francis Gator), Revenge (Nuke), This One Must Survive (Trail)

Image

Felstorm’s Villains – Nuke (Lvl2), Rook (Lvl2), Seabolt (Lvl2), Francis Gator (Lvl1) & Tritonius (Lvl1) with BOOMinion Tigershark and Hydroman.
Agendas: Double Agent (Riposte), Revenge (Trail), This One Must Survive (Francis Gator)

Image

While above in the City the combatants facing off were:

Image

Image

Roboxt’s Heroes – Sgt Bale (Lvl2), Captain Hadron (Lvl2), Kitty Cheshire (Lvl1), Skyline (Lvl1) & Jade Hawk (Lvl1) with minion June Summers, the Men in Blue (MIB: Pulp City Police) and Father Joe.
Agendas: Protect the Citizens, Trapped in Wreckage, The Hand Off

Image

Flo’s Villains – Loup Garou II (Lvl2), Tangent (Lvl2), Harrier (Lvl1), Chimp Chi (Lvl1) & Twilight (Lvl1) with minion Hired Goons (Guns) and Dead Dog
Agendas: Terrorize, Soliloquy, Razing Lazer.

TURN 1

In the alleyway Skyline swooped and grabbed a unwary citizen from right in front of the Hired Goons, outrunning gravity as he quickly removed the grateful chap from the firing line.

Image

Below the streets, Vector created 2 floating pixels sending one programmed to protect Riposte, and moved towards the vital pillar

Image

Reveling in the dank, wet surroundings of the sewers, Seabolt got on the flux and surfed up to the opposite pillar and started looking for weaknesses. The sewer maintenance guys saw that they shouldn’t be there and abandoned their land rover…

Image

Above, Tangent looked at the building in front of her, looked at her pistol, looked at the building, looked at her pistol and decided she’d need more firepower… this whopping great RAZING LASER should do it! She unleashed at the building, blowing out the windows with the first salvo.

Image

The MIB (Blue, not Black, wanna get sued!?!?) saw that many of the citizens were in troubling positions. Moving forward they shouted out orders directing citizens to move out of danger’s way.

Image

Image

Responding to Twilight’s orders the Hired Goons rushed in to the central intersection in the city, taking up prime position while the female assassin lurked behind them.

Image

All of the focus in the sewers was on the eastern pillar, as Stoner Hawk ordered the Zzapbots forward by his side, Tritonius called on Hydroman to follow him torward the objective and Rook gave similar instructions to Tigershark.

Image

Image

Image

The western pillar also received some attention with Nuke pushing towards it and igniting his fire inside! Aquerro saw the radioactive man and looked for a better firing point.

Image

Image

Directly above where Stoner Hawk was, Sgt Bale was about to help the trapped citizen when he spotted Loup Garou II. He’d been after the werewolf for weeks and this was his chance. The inquisitor in him kicked in and he vowed that as the Dragon’s Champion, before the day was out he’d take down the beast! Oh and Kitty moved…

Image

Loup meanwhile noticed the feline femme fatale and recognized her as the one with “those photos”! He picked up her scent (kinda minty) and locked in his tracking instincts on her. Next to the beast, Chimp Chi sliced the leg off a business woman civilian who thought she could bribe the bad guys and Harrier took to the skies.

Image

The Hired Goons spotted the citizens and open fired, but all their shots flew wide! One decided the caped guy was a better target and managed to wing Skyline.

Image

Back downstairs, Trail moved up behind a wall of clanking mechanical minion.

Image

At the same time Aquerro called out to his partner in crime and/or fighting Riposte to move into position while he moved up in support.

Image

Image

The urban huntress Jade Hawk took to the rooftops, intent on saving the student on the opposite building’s roof, while Loup Garou II, Dead Dog, Chimp Chi and Twilight all moved on the streets below.

Image

Image

Image

Sensing the time ready for a big play, Trail gave Stoner Hawk instructions that would increase the probability of him opening a can of whoop @ss, and the big man of rock felt the blessing of Hermes in his pebbles and zoomed forward, delivering a crushing blow to Hydroman, so much so that he exploded and ended up mixed in with the sewage!

TURN 2

The action below began with Stoner Hawk seeing the board riding Seabolt’s flux wear off, leaving him venerable to be rumbled! However the big stone fists missed their target, but the big chief was in position to protect the structure.

Image

In the alleyway above, knowing that the best way to protect the fleeing citizens was the attack, Skyline barreled into the Hired Goons, taking one down, signaling the MIB to get more innocents away from danager.

Image

Image

Tangent fired up the Razing Laser again, smashing the building to within about 4 bricks of collapse while the student stuck on the roof yelled out to Jade Hawk for help.

Image

Captain Hadron pushed down the alleyway to help out Skyline.

Image

Things were happening below as Seabolt, not wanting to test his luck against molten rock fists again, got back on the flux. Trail decided to push forward the Zzapbots with orders to shoot the closest enemy, who just happened to be Franky the Double Agent Gator. Obviously robots don’t understand all of this double dealing and alliance making because they turned their zzap guns to BBQ and incapacitated the half man half croc. Trail shook his masked head…

Image

Tritonius, seeing two of his watery allies falling on either side of him, drew on the dampness surrounding him and bench pressed the Land Rover, flinging it at Stoner Hawk knocking some shards of stone off him and making him roll his rock away from the objective.

Image

In the streets the plucky reporter reminded Sgt Bale that instead of getting fired up about the werewolf he should probably save the trapped citizen. Bale shook off the rage and pummeled the upside down vehicle with a fiery fist, freeing the grateful driver.

Image

Image

Skyline delivered a mighty kick at one of the Goons taking out another.

Image

Twilight sees an opening after Skyline’s kick and charges out of the shadows, delivering sword strikes like two glimmering fangs biting down on the caped supreme, opening up several wounds. Hadron counter charges the assassin stunning her while Chimp Chi and Harrier move in to support.

Image

Trail organizes the robot battleline again, moving the Blastbots up to salvo the surfing maniac but all their shots fly wide.

Image

Rook then makes a move to guard his allies.

Image

Above, all the action is in the central alleyway where Hadron punches Twilight but failed to make contact. The werewolf and his dead dog move in to where the action is.

Image

Seeing the big puppy running away from him, Sgt Bale gives chase while reporter Summers moves in to try to get an exclusive interview.

Image

In the cold metallic sewers things were about to get hot. The Blastbots moved again to bring their weaponry into range of more targets but exposing themselves to Rook, who moved in to start smashing down the pillar and helpless robot

Image

Image

On the west side, Riposte charged Nuke, placing herself between the villain and the important structure point and putting a minor puncture in his containment suit. Nuke responded in the best way a nuclear powerhouse can, overloading the pixel and damaging Riposte.

Image

Seeing the grid of numbers converge Vector unleashed a digital blast on Nuke, leaving the instable entity perilously close to dispersion.

TURN 3

The focus on the alley intersection continued as Captain Hadron concentrated all his effort and grew to become GIANT HADRON!!!! And to Flo’s dismay, he’d not taken into consideration the giant hero’s area affecting giant fist when forming his perfect half donut attack formation… Dead Dog, a Hired Goon and Harrier went flying, as did Hadron’s ally Skyline!

Image

Image

Having confirmed the numbers, Vector pressed repeat and the ensuing digital blast opened up Nuke’s containment suit, dissipating the villain and leaving the western pillar secured by the heroes.

Image

At the same time Vector used his cyber connected head to program the remaining Blastbot to move in and unleashed a burst of fire against the three villains on the eastern pillar, causing some minor damage.

Image

The alleyway suddenly became a game of “run before he hits us again!”. Loup Garou II charged the MIB Tommy and blew some grave dirt in his face, placing a voodoo curse on him as his partner Will looked on in horror. Twilight moved around the giant presence in the alley as Jade Hawk, looking on from above…

Image

JUMPED ON WEREWOLF HEAD! The combined smashing from the head jump and the predator like charging strike caused considerable upset to the big beast…

Image

So much so that he took it out on MIB constable Smith and, using his voodoo influence, forced MIB constable Lee to order some citizens to return to the firing line…

Image

Giving Hadron time to remove his massive fist from the concrete and belt down Twilight again and put the cursed MIB out of his misery.

Image

Below Rook decided to guard his position against the objective while Tritonius moved in and tossed the Land Rover again, belting Stoner Hawk and putting on some serious hurt. Stoner responded with a massive rumbling strike, hurting the alien but he kept his feet and contained the mini earthquake. Trail, seeing Stoner may not last by himself, commanded Gizmobot to charge Seabolt, putting a minor ding in his board.

Image

But the robot arrived a little late as Seabolt delivered a massive jet spray at the big unit, eroding him completely. The Zzapbots clanked slowly forward and seeing that allied bots were engaged with the two closest targets, opened up on Tritonius, again causing more damage than you’d think capable being prototypes from an earlier era.

Image

The student stuck on the roof in the city who’s cries had been ignored by Jade Hawk continued yelling! Skyline spotted him and saw how precarious the building was holding together and ran up the wall to grab him. But just as the caped crusader reached out his hand, Tangent pressed the “RAZE” button on her shiny new laser and brought the whole thing down, crushing the helpless kids in the mess that remained.

Image

Image

Rook, having underestimated the damage the Zzapbots could cause, smashed his halberd into the ground opening up a sink hole that devoured all three of the clanking machine men and knocking down the Blastbot. Gizmobot moved around the elusive surfer dude and struck at the hulking alien. Just when his robotic limbs were about to finish off the big fella, Rook’s halberd flashed in and protected big T.

Image

The very big halberd which was dominating the western pillar then came down on the final Blastbot, scrapping it.

TURN 4

Hadron could not maintain his giant size and reverted to his normal form.

Image

Image

While further down the alley Jade Hawk swung another blow at Loup, failing to make contact.

Image

Hadron summoned all the energy he had left after being giant and charged Twilight. As his fist was about to land square on her jaw the assassin vanished! Having had enough of the strangely robed claw woman, Loup clawed at Jade Hawk and left a bleeding mess on the ground.

Image

Below in the dark, Riposte came up with a master plan, directing Aquerro to move toward the western pillar. Trail determines that Rook is the major threat and using his mind sight makes a pawn of his motor functions, locking the armoured juggernaught in place. Tritonius meanwhile swatted at the annoying little Gizmobot, ripping out some bits and bolts.

Image

Seeing the opening, Aquerro loaded his arrow, took aim and fired straight between the big alien’s eyes, causing massive trauma and felling the monster, leaving only Rook, Seabolt and Tigershark to complete the villainous plot.

Image

Tangent, having completed her private agenda successfully, dropped the laser and scanned for more targets. Lying amongst the rubble she spotted Skyline and, calculating the maths, she blew the hero away.

Image

Above, Sgt Bale had finally caught up with his target and fired off a shot, winging the werewolf who in turn chased after the remaining fleeing citizens and put some distance between himself and the angry army guy. Hadron spotted where Twilight had snuck off to and moved to cut off her escape, while Father Joe came out to see if he could be of help.

Image

Twilight, having only an ounce of strength left, knew that to run away was to fight another day and again escaped Hadron’s grip. Finally Kitty Cheshire appeared to help her team, arriving in a blink of light from the other side of the building next to the fallen Jade Hawk…

Image

…reviving the fallen Supreme with her first aid kit…

Image

…who then chased the slippery assassin Twilight! Unseen, Harrier had flown onto the bank building with the now unguarded and unaware TV reporter in her sights.

Image

Rook, furious at losing control of his legs, yelled at Tigershark to attack while he kept hacking at the pillar. Tigershark obliged, barreling into Aquerro and making a dent in the spandex wearings constitution.

Image

The glitch in the system Vector had created a new pixel and made his move towards the remaining villains.

TURN 5

Having the initiative, Riposte again defended the eastern structure point while concocting another master plan. Vector brought another pixel into play while Trail focused in and pawned Rook again while putting some distance between himself and Seabolt.

Image

As the citizens fled, June Summers was reporting from the site of the rescue of the trapped business man when, out of nowhere, Harrier screamed out of the sky and attacked her, not quite doing enough to take out the surprised correspondent.

Image

Around the corner and down the road Jade Hawk swung a claw at Twilight who again, at the last minute, managed to vanish into thin air! Loup Garou II, having failed to chase down the civilians, knew he wouldn’t last another burst from Sgt Bale’s hand cannon and made tracks, with Bale hot on his tail.

Image

Kitty Cheshire, realizing it was her fault that the reporter was unguarded, tried to reach Harrier to stop her onslaught but…

Image

…arriving too late, Harrier took to the air and, as she flew by knocked the reporter out of her broadcast!

Image

Seeing the threads of energy pointing to the human called Tigershark, Vector combined his pixels to form MEGA PIXEL!!! The following energy strike punished the villainous minion.

Image

Unable to move himself to join the fray, the furious Rook yelled at Seabolt to bust out something big. The surfer obliged, summoning all of the effluent and fluid around him to go with his flow, riding a brown wave over friend and foe alike!!!! As the water subsided, Aquerro and Tigershark were both down.

Image

Image

In response, Vector made a combo of blasting and knifing Seabolt with his digital weaponry and called in Mega Pixel to help out.

Image

Bale saw the opening he was looking for, loaded a silver bullet and took down the big canine Loup! As he pulled the trigger he felt the dragon on his arm pulse with power.

Image

In the alleyways, Chimp Chi ran to see if there was any mayhem to cause in the north western corner of town as Hadron gave chase…

Image

…and Tangent made her move.

TURN 6

As the police sirens in the distance signaled that the villains only had limited time to complete their evil plot as soon the place would be crawling with joe law, Kitty charged into the ninja monkey and opened up a big scratch on the primate.

Image

Down in the undercity, Trail decided that locking Rook down for a third turn in a row would enable him to repair at least some damage on the western pillar, which he did.

Image

Tangent moved in and popped a cap off at Hadron, injuring the super scientist…

Image

…who ignored the gunfighting mathematician and moved in to fire a molecular ray at Chimp Chi and Dead Dog, hurting the stricken canine by missing the chimp.

Image

Realizing that he was nearly out of options, Rook, knowing that Trail was on the other side of the pillar, turned his tremor halberd up to “PULVERIZE” and blasted a sinkhole just behind Trail. Teetering but eventually losing his footing, Trail fell, knocked down but not out.

Image

Jade Hawk considered another try at chasing down the elusive Twilight but in the end decided to secure the south west part of town while Sgt Bale stood watch with his machine pistol incase the assassin showed herself. Father Joe heard a voice tell him to watch over Jade Hawk and he moved to make it so.

Image

Harrier saw the rooftop vigilante and moved to cut her off…

Image

…then charging and striking at the caped hero. But as her clawed glove descended a cross appeared between Harrier and her target and…

Image

Father Joe took the hit. Harrier stood there looking wondering if the wads of cash that she’d been paid was worth this…

Image

Vector and Mega Pixel continued their digital assault on Seabolt but the surfer refused to fall.

Image

In a last ditch effort Seabolt used all his focus to go with the flow again headed towards Trail, but his muddy coloured wave felled agonizingly short of the fallen Trail.

Image

As the sirens reached the surrounding streets, Chimp Chi sprung out of the cat’s grasp and performed his mysterious Ki maneuver, slicing down Hadron in the street and finalizing the engagement.

So after 7 hours, 232 photos, 4 pizzas, 16 beers and several bags of rubbish food it was all over! Who had prevailed?

Adding up the points on the:

Roboxt’s Heroes: 0 (No table quarters) + 3AGP (6 Citizens saved) -1 AGP (2 Citizens eliminated) +2 AGP (Trapped in Wreckage) -2 AGP (no Secret Sign) = 2AGP

Flo’s Villains: 3 AGP (1 table quarter) + 1 AGP (2 Citizens eliminated) – 3 AGP (6 Citizens saved) + 3 AGP (Razing Laser) – 2 AGP (no Soliliquy) = 2 AGP

K-nucks’ Heroes: 5 AGP (Controlling the Pillars) + 2 AGP (Trail Survived) + 2 AGP (Nuke Eliminated) – 2 AGP (Francis Gator Incapacitated) = 7 AGP

Felstorm’s Villains: 6 AGP (Controlling the Pillars) + 2 AGP (Riposte Survived but Damaged) – 2 AGP (Trail Survived) – 2 AGP (Francis Gator Incapacitated) = 4 AGP

So all up the Heroes scored 9 AGP vs the Villains’ 6 AGP! They’d saved the day, prevented the collapse of the city, saved a lot of innocent bystanders and made a lot of jokes about the lack of hair on the villains side. But I’m sure that there will be some sort of comeuppance…

Cheers PC.

Yeah Felstorm is the Villain collector and I'm the Hero collector and he's much more well rounded and less OCD than me when it comes to painting minis. I have the whole "start it>finish it" psychosis and he's more of a "I'll paint what I feel like" relaxed type bloke. He is responsible for all the awesome colourful scenery that we play on though, so he does paint and does finish things!

Excellent painter he is too by the way, hopefully he'll post up a couple of his finished Villains soon
