As I posted on my Blog, I really like the Nuclear Jones character, the name is exceedingly cool - and the miniature is cooler!

A couple of problems with this one, I had terrible trouble with the line work - and the Varnish went "crinkly" on the right forarm, so there are slight imperfections there - and his skin has more of a green tone than in the photo.

The dark grey isn't showing the shading/highlighting too well either, its much better "in the flesh".

I kept the colours pretty much the same as the studio model, but went for green trim rather than red. I expanded the radioactive "thrust" coming from his feet, because the base looked a little bare.

The glowing green radiation around his torso is now just a glowing green "disc" - much like Iron Mans chest piece.

Mostly happy with him, but I know I can do better. I might buy another one at one point as I have a variant colour scheme in mind.

My Camera Fu is still weak, I get bleaching of the colours :(

Alternate Colour Schemes (its amazing what you can do in Photoshop LoL) . . . . .

A big Stan Lee style "No Prize" for the first one who guesses the colour scheme I favour!

Nuke is the next to be finished, just a "quickie" - as I didn't have a lot of time to spend on painting today.

I'm relatively pleased with him, he turned out OK - especially when you take into consieration that the undercoat went on dusty/lumpy - I REALLY hate it when that happens.

Kept the colours similar to the art, with a slight variation (just to avoid him looking too dull).

Cheers!

DT - you're so supportive, it warms my heart (and I am NOT being sarcastic either).

Working on Sanguine, Draku, and Twilight now!

You're welcome mate! :D

I love your stuff, it looks great! Nuke has a really villainous face and the contrast you have with the metallic containment suit came out really well.

Nuclear Jones looks awesome, I need to figure out how to do mine.........

Keep up the great work :D

One of the things I've learned (especially since I started having problems with my hands) is PATIENCE is so bloody important its untrue.

When I first started painting, it was more patience than ability (personally I hate the use of the word skill, it seems so elitist) and over time as you become more practiced you don't need to be AS patient - as your experiences as a painter and your learned abilities take over.

As for Nuclear Jones, just go for it - try to pick a fairly limited pallete of colours though, it makes things easier!
