The question is, what is the Crown doing back in the colonies?

Very nice sculpt but, for me at least, it doesn't seem to fit with Pulp City.

:) I may just have to get one as a Imperial Commisar though...

He lives in Pulp City's sister town in England, Pulpsburg (I think that's it?). Hence his different style of dress and appearance. :D

For the UK more likely something like:
- Pulpborough
- Pulpchester
- Pulppool
- Pulpham

Or something along those lines! :P

How does he NOT fit into Pulp City, when diversity has always been the "Key" . . . .

Pulp City has NEVER been predictable in its imagery EVER - taking that logic, Sovereign fits into the overall scheme of things really REALLY well!

new idea!

Deep within the British isles there lies a special island. While smaller then it's neighbours, the Isle of Pulp embodies all that is good and all that is not within the commonwealth.

The isle has only one city, but within in boundaries supremes battle and fight continuously. Such is the importance of this island city that even supremes from the colonies come forth. Fighting alongside Soverign himself, Heavy Metal have been known to face off against The Dark Round Table while the Irish supreme Shillelagh has fought alongside the Blood Watch to prevent the Necroplane forces from gaining a new foothold in the old world.

The Pulp Isles: Just as violent. Just as exciting. Much better beer!

I agree with you in theory. Pulp City has a great diversity. That said, there will always be some elements that better fit with our own personal views of what we'd like Pulp City to be. For me, he seems a little too sci-fi, as opposed to Heavy Metal, which has some sci-fi elements, but is still very grounded in clasical super-hero imagery.

:) Besides, it's all subjective... We like what we like.

He only seems "Sci-Fi" because your views have been tainted by Games Workshop - who ripped off the imagery from the Napoleonic era anyway.

And 40k is Science Fantasy, not Science Fiction btw.

40K is definitely Science fantasy with the space elves, space orks etc... That's absolutely true, but in regular discussions, it's so much easier to just call it scifi.

That said, does it matter what source might be behind why I happen to see the model as scifi? We all come into this game with our biases and our views and the super hero genre has room for most of it. You saw the thread I started to discuss who the most iconic character in Pulp City is, right? There was certainly no consensus (although it was cool to see Morf's answer).

Some figs/concepts will work for some of us, some will work for others. That said, even when there are differences of opinion, at least we can count on one thing to keep us unified: Solar is absolutely awesome.

I hated GW's take on imagery before I worked for them, and kept shtum whilst I did LoL!

I assume his look and name comes from the idea of "Taking the Kings Schilling" during the Napoleonic Era . . .

Oh, 100% with you about Solar - he's my Favourite Supreme!
