SUBFACTION: A.R.C.

FUNCTION: Damage Dealing Mini Gun Monkey, Crowd Control Specialist

BRIEF: Guerilla is all about dishing out the damage to the enemies of A.R.C. He specializes in dealing with Multiple opponents, either with this mini gun or his brutal body slam power. When all else fails he can throw a car or just beat you down with his powerful fists. All in all Guerilla is a powerful and Versatile Supreme.

POWERS: At first glance you want to use Guerilla as a ranged combat character. This is a good place to start but don?t stop here. Remember that Guerilla only has an :ENG 4 and it?s not a Trump. That means no power-ups or re-rolls on any of his ranged combat attacks. But Guerilla has a high :STR that means he can throw cars and other terrain around it should tell you that he?s very comfortable getting up-close and personal.

Dakka Boom is a fantastic power. For 2 AP you have good range and when you deal Damage you automatically deal an extra 2 points of Damage! If that wasn?t enough when you have his Ammo Feeder Guerilla can use this against 3 models a round! Dakka Boom is a nice use of his AP as the battle lines begin to close. This is a fantastic power that you will always use. Know it and love it. Even with a weak :ENG 4 it does very good damage.

Raze is another good power. Short range it?s true but it makes up for that with three important facts. First it?s a Ray and Guerilla is on a large base so you can often hit 3 or more models with it if you get close. Second it affects all models under it! Unlike most Rays that are stopped if the first model hit successfully wins the opposed roll. Finally it knocks you down! At 3 AP it means you can knock someone down and then Slam them on your next activation when they are at ?2 to the opposed roll! So Dakka as they close in, Raze them if you can hit multiple targets then it?s close combat time.

Slam is another useful power. It?s a movement but also a blast. Short ranged but it counts as a charge because it combines a movement with a :STR based action. Now the attack will fail on the roll of 1 but as it is :STR based you can trump re-roll this. You can also power it up for extra damage. The other important thing to note is that you place Guerilla, this means rough terrain and walls or height DON?T impede the movement. This can be a great way to get at otherwise hard to hit models like Seabolt or Francis Gator.

Last is Monkey Business a good basic buff that adds the Fury of other A.R.C. members. This is a situational power but can be nasty. When used on a raging Apebot it can really crank the number of attacks the bot is allowed to make in a round. More important is the +1 all A.R.C. minions can gain. Finally there is his team power Rebel Yell. This is constant De-buff that reduces the MND: and SPT: of all nearby Enemies. This is really powerful as you close with Supremes like Trail, Hoodoo, and Blood Rose. Don?t forget about this one. Also remember that Rebel Yell can affect the starting roll!

WEAKNESSES: Guerilla has a good :DEF but can?t stand up long against other bruisers. He needs to soften his targets up with Dakka and Raze to leave them vulnerable to a charge or Slam attack. His shooting is not very good and it?s not accurate. Let?s face it he just sprays bullets everywhere. So keep him out front keep him blasting and when you see a weakness charge.

SYNERGIES: Guerilla has to have the Tracker device. The +1 :ENG is too valuable to pass up. Doesn?t make it a trump trait but it?s so useful it?s a must have. The Ammo Feed is also good in mid sized and up games but in smaller level 3 to 5 encounters it?s less useful. Any A.R.C. member is going to work well with Guerilla. Chimp-Chi can strike at a model Knocked down with Raze or Apebot can benefit from Monkey Business. Also take advantage of his ability to throw things. Sometimes it?s better to power up a throw action than it is to take another Dakka Boom shot. So watch for those opportunities.

Great summary!

Guerrila is an interesting supreme. He likes to shoot if you look at his resources and model. But he really like to get into melee too.

I'd add that he has a very good :AGL 5 trump. That is very high for a bruiser. Most of the higher :STR models have very low :AGL . Guerrila is a nice blend of melee, range, and decent survivability. He is about dishing out damage, not taking it. But he is also relatively tough.

A special note on the Ammo Feeder. Keep in mind it says you may fire it against three different models a round. This specifically means you can not do three Dakka Boom actions versus the same target three times in a round. Attacks with this great ranged action must target different models.

Guerilla is a must have for any ARC team (and even others). High :STR , :AGL and decent :ENG and damage combined with brutal exclusive actions turn this giant ape into the most polyvalent supreme to this day (if I'm not mistaken)

Thank you for the great write up :)

I have more of an idea on how to use this terrifying Gatling gun wielding Gorilla :D I can't wait to pitch him against some other supremes and shower them with a hail of bullets ^_^

Hey Beermonkey I noticed Guerilla's Heavy Gear skill means that he can't manipulate scenery. I assume this means he can't throw cars anymore?

I'm playing the Quest plot tonight against Baskinders and I've noticed Guerilla can't voluntarilly become Burdened either. That's ok, cause I'll get Ape Bot to fetch it for me.

No problems if he can't, cause Guerilla is still way-heaps-cool and I will resort to making lots of SLAM actions instead of throwing cars.

Yup that is correct. Poor ape has his hands full of spinning mini gun and ammo and of course all that attitude. He really doesn't have time to carry around anymore stuff.
